Bubbly Bagwido Believers

As the Bagwido people of Papua New Guinea hear Bible lessons on the book of Acts they are excited about what they are learning.

"You mean now that I am a believer, the Holy Spirit will never leave me?" one of them asked. Several of the believers have given testimonies of their trust and faith in Jesus Christ.

Sepinus, one of the believers, usually begins the Sunday service with prayer. This week, realizing the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, he prayed, "Oh Great Creator Being, your strength is big. You are the one that has no beginning, no middle and no end. We are not like that but You are. We are going to hear from Your Word today. Help us with our thoughts as we are taught. We used to ask You to send your Holy Spirit to protect us and cover us, but we just learned that He is in us. Thank you, Great Creator Being."

A Bagwido couple, Bonipas and Sophia, are joyfully trusting Christ. Sophia, who helps missionary Holly Woodard with the women's meetings, is quick to correct the ladies if they do not have a clear understanding of the lessons and is helping them understand the book of Acts. Bonipas, her husband, is a strong believer also but often is unable to come to the meetings because of his advanced age. However, he visits missionary Brian Holmquist at least every other day and they discuss the lesson. Bonipas delights in telling Brian that he will beat him to Heaven.

Pray that the Bagwidos will have a clear understanding of the book of Acts. Pray also that they will walk in the truth that they hear.
