Different but the same

Mibu believers Sesi and Lucas traveled with missionary Geoff Husa to a translation conference. Missionaries and their tribal co-workers from all over Papua New Guinea had gathered to attend sessions on translating the epistles into tribal languages.

The first evening Geoff went to find Sesi and Lucas. When he found them, Sesi immediately began telling him how happy he was when he heard that all those from other tribes were believers.

He said that within the first hour or two of fellowshipping most everyone had shared their testimony of trusting Jesus and even shared some of the songs they sing in their worship services. He told Geoff, "We're all different but we're the same."

Later, as missionaries and tribal believers sat around a small fire and talked, there was joy as each told what they are learning about God and how they are applying it to their lives.

"I listened to the conversation well into the evening, just soaking it in." wrote Geoff. "It was so great to watch and listen to the fellowship of these men. These guys are separated by many miles, rivers and mountains and they all speak different languages, though they share a common trade language. They've never met each other in the past and many of them have never even heard of the places that they all came from. Yet as soon as they find out that these total strangers share the commonality of Jesus, they're instant buddies."

Pray for Sesi and Lucas as they labor with Geoff to translate God's Word into the Mibu language. Pray that their fellowship with other tribal believers will help them to learn from one another and apply those truths to their lives.
