Sara's light continues to shine

Sara, a Loron woman from the Ivory Coast is active in her church and teaches literacy to adults in her village.

Missionaries Paul and Marina Briggs have seen her grow over the years. They have heard her praise God through singing, witnessed her baptism and encouraged her involvement in her village as a believer teaching others about the goodness of God.

Sara is a light in the community. Her devotion to God and to her church raised the interest of her husband who was diagnosed with HIV.

"We know that at church and through the witness of the Loron believer who visited him at his home, he heard a clear presentation of the Gospel in his own language," Paul wrote. "But we do not know if he ever put his trust in the Lord Jesus for salvation."

Sara's husband lived for another twenty months before he died.

His first wife followed ten days later. Immediately after, Sara was diagnosed with HIV.

"We encouraged the church leaders to go to one of the major towns in northeast Ivory Coast to try to obtain some of the antiretroviral medication for HIV," Paul wrote. "Please be praying that she will be able to get the medication that she needs to extend her life and that she will continue to be a blessing and encouragement as she faces this unimaginable trial."
