NTBI equips men and women to take God’s Word to the ends of the earth.

The needs in the world’s unreached corners are prompting New Tribes Mission to renovate the Waukesha campus of New Tribes Bible Institute.

NTBI equips men and women to take God’s Word to the ends of the earth.

It’s a pressure cooker out there, and we’re not just talking about the weather. The mission field is challenging, and the NTBI students prepare for that with more than a solid understanding of God’s Word. They also get personal mentoring in what it means to abide in Christ, to walk with God and to lean wholly on Him – because they’ll need that where they’re going.

NTBI Waukesha has been grounding students in the Word for 50 years. The building was more than 50 years old when NTM purchased it in 1963. Extensive renovations are under way, so the campus can keep equipping students in the coming decades.

A remodel of facilities on campus is less expensive than building a new campus. It is also less expensive – in dollars and manpower – than trying to address repairs after they become issues.

Renovating also improves the campus, resulting in an atmosphere that better equips students for the mission field.

  • Centralizing offices, conference rooms and staff work areas will improve communications and make the staff more accessible to students.
  • Consolidating the single women’s residences on one floor, the single men’s residences on another, and most of the married students on a different floor will optimize our use of space to house an increased number of missionary candidates.
  • Improving the appearance of the building helps NTBI be a good neighbor in Waukesha, and will be a plus in attracting more students to the school.

Work is already under way

  • All the pitched roofs have been repaired or replaced, as necessary, and tuck-pointing is in progress on the buildings’ exterior stucco and masonry, protecting against costly water damage.
  • Fire escapes have been repaired, providing safe emergency escapes.
  • The library has been renovated, improving the campus’ academic facilities.

There is still a lot to be done.

You can help with the $309,587 needed for renovations scheduled in 2014. If we do not have the funds in hand for these soon, we will have to delay some of them, which will set back the entire renovation schedule, leaving the students and teachers to operate in a less efficient manner.

Here’s what’s planned for 2014:

  • Repair or replace bannisters in the four-story building: $47,250
  • Renovate fourth-floor bathrooms for men and women: $105,000
  • Replace several flat roofs: $50,862
  • Renovate the water-damaged main entrance and lobby: $50,000

Depending on funds, timing and personnel available, we may also replace aging dorm furniture, install air conditioning in the school chapel, and/or pave some areas outside the building.

Among the projects slated for the future – projects that your gift today can help keep on track – are:

  • Replace dated kitchen appliance. All meals are home-cooked by NTM missionaries, with prep and service handled by missionary candidates. This is part of their training and keeps costs down.
  • Replace fire doors. With fire escape repairs finished, this will complete emergency escape improvements.
  • Renovate classroom. Growing class sizes necessitate changes in audio-visual equipment, layout, furniture, etc.

Your year-end gift will make a difference
