Testimony of Service

Bagwido believers in Papua New Guinea are amazed at how God is working in their lives.

"We just put our thumbnail behind our top teeth," said the Bagwidos concerning recent events," wrote missionary Brian Holmquist. "That’s an idiom for ’stand in amazement’ in the Bagwido language."

Right now in their village a medical health training course in going on. More than 20 tribal people from five different language groups are taking the course. The villagers are providing meals for the students.

"One amazing thing is watching our village come together to feed these extra people for 6 weeks," continued Brian.

For the Bagwidos, that doesn’t mean a few extra trips to the grocery store. There is no grocery store.

"Joyfully feeding that many extra mouths for that long a time is nothing short of a miracle. The folks here have had a stellar testimony through their acts of service," Brian wrote.

Bagwido believers have also begun an outreach to a neighboring village. More than 40 adults are hearing God’s Word. Missionary Mark Woodard and two Bagwido believers are in the middle of the 62 lesson evangelistic Bible series.

The missionaries continue to teach the book of Romans to the believers and hold discipleship classes. There is a children’s Bible class every Thursday taught by Bagwido dads.

Praise God for His work among the Bagwidos. Pray that they will continue to have a stellar testimony through their acts of service.
