Rex Schaffner has a powerful testimony of coming to the saving knowledge of God’s grace in Christ Jesus at age 25. Since then he has been quick to tell of God’s love and acceptance and His desire that men, women and children everywhere come to know God and to accept His Son as Savior.

In 1993 Rex and Shirley Schaffner became “Floridians on a mission.”  God led them  to move with their three children from Clearwater, Florida, to attend New Tribes Bible Institute in Jackson, Michigan.

Discovering in the Scriptures God’s heartbeat for the world, they joined the mission in 1996 and began service at the NTBI Jackson campus.  Over the years, Rex served in a number of positions at the Bible Institute, eventually becoming the president.

During their ministry at NTBI, Rex and Shirley also led teams of young people to Paraguay and Papua New Guinea, helping them discover missions first hand. As a result, many of those young people are on the mission field today.

Currently living in Massachusetts, Rex is an Ethnos360 representative in the northeast United States. He loves to share with young people and churches about the exciting opportunities available to help reach the world’s still-unreached people groups. After working many years at NTBI (now Ethnos360 Bible Institute/EBI), Rex knows very well Ethnos360’s comprehensive missionary training program, and is eager to share about it with those who are interested in missions.
