Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with adolescents.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a student support team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in School Counseling.
State certification/licensure in School Counseling.
Experience in an international or multicultural school setting.
Knowledge of North American-style college admissions.

Purpose: Dakar Academy seeks a Middle & High School Academic Guidance Counselor to support students’ academic success, social-emotional well-being, and preparation for college and career pathways. This role strengthens DA’s mission by helping students grow in wisdom, responsibility, and readiness for life beyond high school.
Responsibilities: To provide academic guidance, short-term social-emotional support, college and career counseling, and coordination among students, families, and staff to ensure student success.
