Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Strong understanding of special education best practices and ethical standards.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Collaborative, proactive, and mission-driven.
Heart for student ministry and Christian education.
Preferred Qualifications:
State certification in Special Education.
ACSI Certification.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Special Education setting.
Desired Skills & Attributes:
Positive, energetic, and student-focused.
Strong leadership skills, especially if serving as Department Head.
Ability to train and support teachers and staff.
Capacity to evaluate student needs and coordinate appropriate services.

Purpose: Dakar Academy seeks a Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs at the West and South Campuses. This role may also function as the Special Education Department Head, guiding IEP development, coordinating services, and equipping staff to ensure students receive individualized, Christ-centered academic and behavioral support.
Responsibilities: To provide special education services, develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with teachers and families, and, if serving as Department Head, oversee SPED scheduling, referrals, interventions, and staff training.
