Emberas recording Scripture
Recording the Embera Scriptures has gone more slowly than Doug Schermerhorn had hoped, but he’s confident the time can be made up.
Recordings make the Embera New Testament more accessible to the many Emberas who are not very good readers.
"The recording has gone well although we have had some difficulty in getting the right Embera believers capable of reading for the actual recording," Doug wrote. Some who are good readers have not been able to read out loud well enough for recording.
"This has required a lot of shuffling of personnel and has caused delays. We presently are behind schedule but now have readers who are doing well and will probably make up for some of the time we lost," Doug wrote.
In addition, Doug has been able to train some of those are reading to handle other tasks, like monitoring those who are recording. This frees Doug up go get supplies, or run to the bus terminal to pick up other participants.
"Please continue to pray for us as we record over the next two weeks. We want to be done by April 1 if at all possible. Pray for stamina for the readers since reading aloud for long periods of time is quite demanding."
