End of one term points to the next

The school term for missionaries' children in Papua New Guinea is nearly ended and Principal Patrick Eggleton is seeking staff members for the fall of 2009.

This year several staff positions were not filled and because of the shortage, some courses had to be done by correspondence.

"We regularly pray for our students who will soon transition to new places -- especially our seniors," wrote Patrick. "By June, many of these students will say goodbye to all that they have known as familiar and enter a world that is vastly different from Papua New Guinea. We especially pray for a series of meetings held in mid-April that are specifically designed to help our third-culture kids prepare for their upcoming transitions."

One challenge for the school staff this year has been the number of students with special learning needs and those who are learning in a language that is not their home language. The teachers must adapt to each special need and help those for whom English is a second (or third) language to cope with the challenges.

"We pray that they will be able to work through these challenges and finish out their year strongly," Patrick wrote.

Pray for Patrick as he leads the staff in helping each student reach their highest potential in learning.
