Mobilizing Paraguayan Churches

Last week pastors and leaders from seven churches met with New Tribes Mission leaders to discuss mission needs and world evangelism at the first NTM Pastors' Forum in Paraguay.

Missionaries Dean and Nellie Goddard and their son, Mike, along with his wife, Trisha, are involved in mobilizing Paraguayan churches to a greater involvement in tribal missions and receive input from the pastors.

Randy and Laurie Steel, in addition to their other responsibilities, helped Mike and Dean with the forum.

"Our desire is to work more closely with the local church" wrote Randy, "to assist the church in training, equipping, and sending missionaries to plant churches among the unreached in Paraguay and around the world."

Earlier this month preparations began for the forum. Randy met with Dean and Mike to discuss the program and Laurie prepared snacks and decorations for the event.

At the seminar Randy presented a history of New Tribes Mission in Paraguay and acquainted the pastors with the work currently being done.

Dean and Mike Goddard are also teaching chronological Bible lessons in the Guarani language in small area churches.

Their hope is to ground the believers in foundational truth so that they are ready to reach out to others with the Gospel and train others to teach evangelistic Bible lessons.

The next Pastors' Forum will be held in November. Pray for the mobilization team as they plan and carry out the next forum with other pastors in the area. Pray also that the teaching of foundational truths will inspire churches to a deeper involvement with tribal missions.
