'New brothers and sisters in Christ'

Watching God's power at work in Palawano lives is exciting.

The Gospel is powerfully at work among the Brooke’s Point Palawano people. And Dave and Julie Ward are excited. They are praising God for His faithfulness and for this long-awaited beginning of a rich harvest for eternity.

After finishing the Bible lesson on the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, Tisito, their language co-worker, made a confession of faith and put his trust in Christ as Savior, Julie says.

Tisito told Dave and Julie, “Before you came, the way to God was rough and overgrown and hard to find. Now it’s a clear path. If you had not come to tell us the truth, I would have drowned in my sins.”

The very next day, Julie shares, Mulok and her husband, Pilno, and their son, Jambi, all confessed Christ as Savior. Soon after, Mulok exclaimed, “Jesus is the only way to know God. He paid for our sins on the cross.  We believe it in our hearts and in our heads—it is the truth!”

A few days later, on a Sunday morning, Ludi and Jewali believed and confessed faith in Christ.

Julie shares, “Jewali threw her arms around me and just sobbed and sobbed … and finally she blurted out, ‘They put Jesus on that cross, they stuck those nails in His Hands and He hung there and died and took all our sins and the sins of the whole world … He did it for us!’”

Dave and Julie were amazed to see God’s visible work in Palawano lives. “It was all finally happening and the most amazing thing of all was that all we had to do was give them the message in their own language … and the Holy Spirit did the rest. We just stood back and watched the Lord at work!”

“We are so overwhelmed with the goodness of God,” Julie writes. “For giving us this wonderful blessing of new brothers and sisters in Christ.”

Is there another task on earth more worth the investment of your time than a ministry like Dave and Julie’s? You, too, could pour out your life into a tribe waiting to hear the Good News about Christ. Find out how you can go.
