Testifying to their faith through baptism

As missionaries Lindy and Carol Drake talked with new Guanano believers in Brazil to confirm their salvation they were surprised when Nilsa indicated that she wanted them to ask about her salvation.

Lindy and Carol were overjoyed when Nilsa gave a clear testimony of her faith in Christ.

Mario, Nilsa's husband, had the privilege of baptizing his wife along with others on Sunday.

The young couple is now united in Christ and in their desire to raise their family to follow Him.

"When I was growing up, I was very disobedient to my parents," Mario said. "I was just plain bad, and I didn't care. It never bothered me, but since I have been a Christian God has put different thoughts in my heart. To Him obedience is important. As I walk with Him I have changed and find in my heart a desire to obey Him and others whom God has put over me.

"I have apologized to my Dad for the way I treated him growing up, and now I am raising my own son, Daniel. I understand that if I don't pass God's thoughts and teaching on to my son he will grow up just as disobedient and rebellious as I did."

Mario and Nilsa now have the newly revised Guanano New Testament to teach to their son. After the baptism service the Drakes presented copies of the New Testament to the believers, who received them with enthusiasm.

Please pray that the believers will faithfully study and follow God's Word.

Pray too that Mario and Nilsa will have God's wisdom as they walk a new path together training their son in God's way.
