What is Expedition all about?

This is a chance for your students to ...

  • experience missions in a new, cool way
  • enjoy fellowship and fun with each other
  • “rough it” in Jungle Camp
  • visit our tribal village

Who is invited?

Expedition is designed for students in 9th – 12th grade. Students come as a Youth Group along with your youth leaders/helpers, who serve as chaperones. What’s a typical day look like?

A typical day at Wayumi Expedition begins with devotions and sessions on tribal missions. The students will learn about language, culture, Bible translation and evangelism from veteran missionaries. Afternoons are dedicated to games and competitions which mesh with the things they learned in the morning. Of course, there's tons of time for swimming, games and other activities. Evenings are spent around the campfire singing and hearing the Word of God.

When should we arrive and depart?

Your youth group should plan to arrive between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday.  Wayumi Expedition begins with Sunday supper at 6 p.m. and ends after breakfast on Friday.  Please plan your travel around those times.

Where do we sleep?

Your group will stay in "Jungle Camp" -- a woodland setting in rustic cabins. You will be sleeping in South American hammocks. And you’ll want to bring a sleeping bag because of the cool nights.

Bookstore and snack shop:

If your students have extra money, they can use it in our bookstore and at the snack shop. In the bookstore, there is Wayumi memorabilia like T-shirts, sweatshirts, and mugs along with many books on missions.

How much does Expedition cost?

Wayumi Expedition is $229* per person. This covers all expenses.  Students may want to bring extra cash for the snack shop and bookstore.

*Prices are subject to change.
