A dream come true for Aaron

Aaron Laney says he has really enjoyed tech training at the New Tribes Missionary Training Center. In fact, Aaron says that doing things he loves to do while helping to expand the reach of the Gospel has been a dream come true for him.
“We have done pretty much all the physical things that a missionary would need to do living in a remote location,” Aaron shares. “This semester we have done everything from simple electrical circuits to designing a hydro-electric system that could power three or more homes for a missionary in a remote tribe …. We have also done everything from plumbing … to pouring cement and welding a metal building.”
Other projects that were of special interest to Aaron were water filtration systems, appliance repair, small engine repair and solar panels.
Aaron says that the purpose of the tech training is to enable missionaries to have work done on the physical fixtures of ministry so that they can focus on things like learning the language, teaching Bible lessons, discipling believers and translating Scriptures.
“Time is the one resource missionaries cannot get more of,” observes Aaron. “If we can save them time with the physical things of life in a tribe so that they can focus on ministry, then that is what we are all about … Technology can save a lot of time, but technology that is not working can take up more time. A tech specialist is there to help keep things running and be a blessing and encouragement to the missionaries.”
“So by doing tech work, we will have a part in speeding the spread of the Gospel to unreached tribal groups,” shares Aaron.
Pray for Aaron Laney and his wife Kimmie as God opens the doors to His future for them following graduation. Pray that God will use technology training as ministry to bless tribal missionaries who share God’s Word in remote places. Pray that Aaron’s tech training will become a great resource of encouragement to their ministry.
