A New CEO for Ethnos360

Since its founding in 1942, Ethnos360 (originally New Tribes Mission) has been blessed with sound leadership over the years, and that blessing will continue as the leadership team listens to the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit.

I have been able to work with Larry Brown, the former CEO of Ethnos360, on a number of projects, and I asked him to introduce the new CEO to you.

“As we enter 2024, I am excited to share with you that beginning in January, Steve Sanford will be the new CEO of Ethnos360. After beginning training at Ethnos360 Bible Institute, Steve and Sharon became Ethnos360 members in 1991. Their missionary ministry began in Latin America in 1994, where for 12 years they served with a church planting team to reach the Joti people. Steve focused primarily on discipleship and curriculum development. The ministry there came to an abrupt halt in 2006 when Steve and Sharon, along with all Ethnos360 missionaries, were removed from their interior locations by the government of that country.

“From 2007 until this year, Steve and his wife, Sharon, served with the mobilization team, ministering at the Wayumi campus in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. Steve impacted students with his instruction, and Sharon served on many levels. In 2013, Steve was invited to join the Ethnos360 Executive Leadership Team, expanding his desire to mobilize and encourage believers to give their lives to take the gospel to places where Christ is not named. Steve and Sharon have passed that same desire to their three sons, all married and serving in full-time ministries.

“I’ve been honored to serve as Ethnos360’s CEO since 2007. As was Joshua’s testimony, ‘Not one word has failed of all the things that God has promised.’ I have found God faithful and gracious for all that He has led us through these past 16 years, and I have been blessed to go through this journey with dear folks like you!

“Last year I was asked if I would be willing to take on a deeper role on the international Global Partner Board as chairman, and I accepted that role. It gave me (and the Executive Board) great peace knowing that God had raised up Steve to be the next Ethnos360 CEO. I have personally worked closely with Steve for many years and greatly appreciate his heart for Christ, His mission and His people. More will be coming out regarding Steve and Sharon in our next Ethnos360 magazine in March.”

We welcome Steve and Sharon to the Home Office and anticipate many years of his leadership with Ethnos360.
