Akolets respond to visual aids

This week the Akolet people of Papua New Guinea were introduced to five posters that were assembled by the missionary team’s friends in the USA.

The posters pictured an assortment of animals, birds, fish and people from around the world to show the Akolets the variety that exists in creation.

One poster that created a lot of talk showed people from various religious persuasions.

"The responses to this poster were passionate and varied," wrote missionaries Adam and Julie Martin.

The missionary team briefly explained each persuasion and noted, "This is what these people believe is true." At the conclusion of the presentation they asked, "Which belief is correct?" Pointing to the various peoples they asked, "Are these people right? What about those people there? Were your ancestors correct? Were ours? How do we know what is true?"

The Akolets agreed that it is hard to know if they are following the correct way or not.

Please pray for the missionary team as they continue to prepare the people for the coming evangelistic Bible teaching. Pray too that the people will give much thought to what they are hearing and be ready to receive the truth of God’s Word.
