Another computer will help in translation

A Toshiba Netbook is on its way from the USA to Papua New Guinea to help several Siawis correct the spelling and grammar errors in the Siawi New Testament.

Missionary Linda Krieg has completed the translation of more than 72 per cent of the New Testament into the Siawi language. The first half needs careful scrutiny for accuracy in grammar and punctuation.

While Linda could correct the translation given time, a natural Siawi speaker could accomplish the task more quickly especially, with the use of a computer.

"Please be praying for the Lord’s direction as to whom to train for using the computer" wrote Linda. "As the Lord enables these men in computer skills, they will be able to save valuable time toward the completion of the Siawi New Testament."

Recently Linda and several Siawi co-workers met with a translation consultant to check the book of Hebrews for clarity. They are currently working on translating the book of 2 Corinthians and have a goal of finishing the New Testament in late 2011.

Please pray that Linda and her Siawi co-workers will translate the remaining parts of the New Testament clearly and accurately and that the computer will aid them in needed corrections.
