Applying what they learn

Uriay believers are beginning to realize that their walk with God is a process.

“We’re thrilled to see how the Lord is growing His children in their brand new relationship with Himself through the Lord Jesus,” wrote Elias and Josė Struik, missionaries to the Uriays.

The Uriays celebrated communion last month, an important step in the growth process. Many have given a clear testimony of their union with Christ.  “Now we’re looking forward to seeing growth happen in understanding what it means to walk with Jesus,” Josė  wrote, “how the Holy Spirit desires to lead us, and what solution the Lord has for what we call our old nature.”

The missionaries are looking to God, Who ultimately strengthens and grows His children, for help in establishing the Uriay church. The team plans to continue to build up, equip, encourage and instruct the church with the goal of establishing a mature church that is able to function on its own.

Through teaching Bible lessons and one-on-one discipleship the believers are beginning to understand and apply the truths they have learned.

Pray that the Uriay believers will continue the step-by-step growth process as they learn new truths from God’s Word. Elias asks for prayer that the missionary team will be clean, usable vessels in the hands of the Master and will be used to build-up the Uriay believers.
