Aware but still excited

Christ's church is expanding among the Inanbimali tribe in Papua New Guinea. A few Inanbimali believers are preparing to teach Bible lessons and this Sunday, a handful of believers will be baptized.

"Many of the believers are excited," missionary Tim Shontere wrote. "But [also] getting their minds ready for the persecution coming down the road."

With devotion to Christ comes opposition from Inanbimali unbelievers, but those who have understood their need for Christ continue to push on.

Twelve Inanbimali men will start teaching through the first phase of lessons in the chronological Bible teaching first established by the missionaries.

As part of their preparation, they'll practice teaching in front of the missionaries.

"Next Saturday, we will be having three guys practice in front of the teacher panel, then three more guys the next week," Tim wrote. "They all have some jitters about it, but are up for the challenge."

Please pray that the Inanbimalis' excitement for living out God's Word will continue to grow and that they will be an example to unbelievers in their village.
