Believer doesn't believe in stories

Macario, a Guarijío man, has believed on Christ as his Savior.

When missionary Terry Reed went to talk with him about what he believed, Macario responded with a question: How did God get there?

"We have taught on this topic before," Terry wrote. "But since the Guarijíos have confused concepts of God being similar to a man, they assume that at some point he has a father and a mother." Terry's explanation helped Macario understand the concept of God's eternity.

Then Macario told Terry about a man who was telling stories about God. Macario's response to the man was, "I don't believe the stories you are telling because they don't appear in the Bible anywhere."

"He is showing that he places great value on the written Word," Terry wrote. "He is demonstrating that he is indeed using and believing the Guarijío Scriptures that we gave him. As a teacher and translator, I am thrilled!"

Macario's belief in Christ as his Savior is clear. "We are following God and His Word and will not stop following Him," Macario affirmed.

Praise God that Macario has accepted Christ as his Savior. Please pray that Macario and other Guarijío believers will continue to be an example to those who do not yet fully understand what God has planned for them.
