Bena Bena believers baptized
The river, flowing fast, made it hard for the missionaries and Bena Bena believers to find a suitable spot for their baptism.
With some searching, one believer found a spot deep enough near the opposite bank and the group waded across the river.
"Each of them gave a testimony and explained why they were being baptized," missionary David Lee wrote.
The baptism was a first for this village in Papua New Guinea and four Bena Benas were baptized, along with the two oldest children of missionaries Rich and Dawn Foster.
One Bena Bena man, Johnson, enjoyed witnessing the baptism and made sure to shake hands with all of the believers.
"He has been showing a lot of interest lately, so we will be encouraging him to go and hear the teaching in our next outreach," David wrote.
Please pray that the baptism will be a testimony of faith to other Bena Benas and they, like Johnson, will be encouraged to hear God’s Word.
