Bible teaching getting easier
Nerves are settling for new Guanano Bible teachers, Mario and Getulio.
"They are growing more comfortable standing before a group and teaching without being glued to the paper lesson," missionary Lindy Drake wrote.
So far, the two teachers have covered the first eight lessons of the 68 from the evangelistic Bible teaching series, which moves from Creation to Christ.
And while these two may now teach with ease, the work they put into their lessons is anything but easy.
Getulio starts his day early selling bread door-to-door throughout his town in Brazil. By the time he gets home in the late afternoon, he's exhausted.
"But I try to sit down and study the Bible lesson some time before I go to bed," Getulio said. "About 4 a.m., when I can't sleep anymore, I get up and prepare to go out on my bread-selling route again. But before I go, I sit down and study the lessons some more."
Sometimes, Getulio wonders if God is pleased with him and asked Lindy what he thought.
"I was a little surprised by his question," Lindy wrote. "These guys have come out of such a rough background. They have been beaten down by Satan and told over and over again they are bad. In many ways, they have confirmed that evaluation over and over again by the way they lived. What a change the Gospel has made in Getulio's life! It is my privilege to encourage him."
Getulio and Mario have been great examples of demonstrating to God that they think His message is important.
Please pray that they can continue to stay motivated and eager to teach God's Word.
