Budik man wants to hear God's Word

The heart of a Budik man who has been resistant to hearing the Gospel has recently softened and he has said he is now "willing to learn about the Bible."

Missionaries and Budik believers in Senegal have talked with Tama and tried to encourage him to hear evangelistic Bible teaching, but he has refused. His wife -- Nyafo -- has wanted to hear the teaching for a long time, but Tama forbid it.

He took away an MP3 player with recorded lessons that missionaries Ron and Debbie Abram had loaned Nyafo, and when another believer loaned an MP3 player to her Tama threatened to break it.

Budik believers have been praying for the couple and within the past few days Tama said he is now willing to let his wife hear the teaching and he wants to hear it too.

Tama said he would ask Bigir, a village leader, to teach him.

Pray that Bigir will be able to clearly present the Gospel "whether it be by playing the taped lessons or by trying his hand at reading the Scriptures and lessons himself," the Abrams wrote.

And pray that Tama and Nyafo will open their hearts and come to believe in Christ.
