Buglere conference 'amazing'
Two years of planning, praying and raising financial support is being realized this week as the Buglere women gather for a conference.
The women had their first conference two years ago. On that occasion believers from a neighboring tribal group helped with the planning. This time around the Bugleres did all the planning. Some of the women walked difficult trails to reach women in outlying areas to publicize the event and elicit prayer.
The women were able to raise $800 (mostly in nickels and dimes) to purchase the food and other supplies.
"That is utterly amazing when you consider that these folks are one of the poorest tribal groups in all of Panama," wrote missionary Genise Anderson. "In the Buglere culture they have the tendency not to share with others, so God’s people among the Bugleres are learning to be generous to accomplish God’s work among them."
One of the believers donated a cow -- a sacrifice and a rare treat -- to supply meat for the conference.
Though it is a conference for women there will be men in attendance -- doing the cooking and serving the women -- who will be able to listen in.
Please pray that God will work in hearts to encourage the believers and that those who have not yet believed in Christ will become new creations in Him.
