'Cancer has been a blessing'
Brazilian missionary Marcelo Silva, who returned to his home country from the USA last month, is still waiting for a bone marrow transplant.
Marcelo’s body has been weakened from his battle with leukemia but he continues to glorify God.
"This cancer has been a huge blessing in my life," he wrote. "It has awakened in me a new understanding of God’s beautiful character, and has taught me to rest my agitated and deceitful heart in His unchanging sovereignty and power."
The transplant has been delayed waiting on donor tests.
In the meantime, Marcelo and his wife, Rute, have enjoyed the hospitality of a generous couple who have made their home available. But because their situation will be long term they are looking for another place to stay, not wanting to invade the family’s privacy.
Please pray that they will find an adequate housing situation and for the transplant process to move more speedily.
The Silvas are praising God that their large hospital bill in Denver, Colorado -- more than $1 million -- was written off by the hospital. Please pray for God’s provision for their ongoing expenses.
