Children opening doors to further relationships
Missionaries Shaun and Melanie Humphreys are building their home in a Nivacle village in Paraguay in order to begin a church planting ministry there.
"As we listened to the chatter and giggles outside," Melanie wrote, "we began to realize again just what a vital part our kids play in our ministry. After just a couple days of being in the village, there was an average of ten to 15 kids hanging out and playing for hours each day on our porch and in the yard."
Shaun and Melanie clearly see that their children are a vital part of the ministry to the Nivacles, helping them to build relationships and learn the language.
Eight-year-old Michayla, and Rylan who is seven, are already making friends with Nivacle children. Their desire is to know the language well enough to tell their friends about Jesus. Four-year-old Seth is a hit with all ages.
Recently the family camped out in the village and worked on their future home. While there they learned new phrases and words and continued building relationships with the people.
Each time they come to work on their house the Nivacles ask when they will move in. Shaun and Melanie hope to be ready to move there by early summer.
"We really want to be living out there, learning their language and culture," wrote Melanie.
Pray that Shaun, Melanie and their children will soon be able to live among their Nivacle friends. Pray also that God will prepare the hearts of the Nivacle people to accept His message of Salvation.
