Clearer than water
This month, Firm Foundations Bible lessons are expected to start among the Brooke’s Point Palawano people.
But already God’s Word is making an impact.
Tossito, one of the Palawanos helping prepare lessons, told missionary Elise Long, “The land we grow our rice on, it belongs to God. We don't need to ask permission of the spirits to plant on it. God is straight and true. He is clear like the water, only more clear. Water has rocks and impurities in it. God doesn't. He's perfect.”
“So the helpers are believing God and all that they are learning about Him,” Elise said. “Can't wait till we hear their reaction to the Crucifixion and Resurrection!”
Dave Ward, who is working closely with Palawanos to prepare Bible lessons in their language that are clear, expects to complete at least 40 of the 60 or so lessons this month. Forty is “the goal he had before starting the teaching,” Elise wrote. Late in October, “he handed over the first lesson to me to check, so that was a special occasion, and meant that we've taken a big step closer.”
Pray that missionaries are able to start Firm Foundations Bible lessons on time; that many Brookes Point Palawanos come to listen; and that God opens their hearts to hear His message.
