Concentrated teaching to benefit several communities

Missionary Wayne Goddard had the opportunity to close the 2008 year and bring in the New Year by teaching evangelistic Bible lessons to a group of tribal people in Paraguay about 200 miles from the missionaries' home village.

The opportunity was organized by a German mission that has a facility they use as a Bible school for tribal people. The German mission brings families together from different communities for a time of concentrated teaching.

Thirteen couples and 43 children attended the three-week session that was held when the children have the longest break from school.

Wayne invited two Pai Tavy Tera couples to assist him with the teaching. Because of their teaching experience the two men-- Mario and Doroteo -- provided a good model for those in attendance.

One aim of the teaching was to help the people learn how to teach the lessons so they could teach the material in their respective communities.

"We had sessions where the students practiced teaching the lessons to each other and to the whole group as well," Wayne wrote. "Overall we were pleased by the response of the students and the positive feedback we received indicated the teaching was a big help."

Please pray that God's Word will reach more tribal people as the students return to their communities and pass on what they learned.
