Couple celebrates Christian marriage

Jan. 1 was a day of new beginnings for the Wusuraambya church, Andrew Goud shares.

Two believers, Josek and Goma, were united in Christ that day in Christian marriage. Their wedding brought their parents, family and friends to the church to share in this celebration.

As Josek and Goma said their vows, Josek promised he would take only Goma as his wife. This is a powerful  statement  because the cultural norm for the Wusuraambya people is two wives.

Andrew, the resident missionary, shared with everyone present what God’s Word teaches about Christian marriage. The room was filled with attentive listeners.  For many there, it was the first time they had heard what God’s plan for marriage is.

Pray for Josek and Goma as they begin a life together united in Christ. Pray that their love for God and for each other will grow and mature by God’s grace. Pray that the ongoing example of their marriage will be a powerful testimony to the Wusuraambya people of Christ and His love for the church.
