Decisions abound in opening new work

The missionary team ministering to the Konyagui people in Guinea is facing several difficult decisions and changes in personnel.

"There are so many decisions involved," wrote missionary Chantal Pilon, "and the task can seem overwhelming, but we trust the Lord will show us the way."

Team members Benjamin and Jody Baum are returning to the USA to help missionaries with technical issues. Jody's sister, Sherry Hofer and her husband Brian along with their two children arrived in Guinea in October and are currently engaged in learning the Guinean culture and language. When they have finished their French study they will join Chantal on the Konyagui team.

Chantal is learning the culture and language of the Konyaguis and several days a week rides her bike to a village four miles away so that she can spend time with the Konyagui people. She follows her "adopted Konyagui mom" around each day and helps her with whatever task she is doing, whether fixing meals or working in the fields. She spends the night in a hut provided by the villagers.

"This immersion into Konyagui life is a great way for me to learn," wrote Chantal, "and I'm enjoying all my new friends."

Brian and Sherry are living near Chantal while they study culture and language and are praising God for the relationships they've been able to establish as they visit different villages in the area.

Pray that God will give wisdom as to where the team should build their homes. Pray also that God will begin preparing the hearts of the Konyagui people to hear the Gospel message.
