Dinangat men accepting the challenge

As many as 18 Dinangat men in Papua New Guinea are participating in a reading class every Sunday afternoon and the missionaries ministering among them think that the future Bible teachers and church leaders will come from this group.

"This reading for comprehension practice has become a wonderful time of Bible study and application with the men and it has shown us who the men are that are taking all this seriously," wrote missionary Gary Smith.

Several months ago the missionaries started a reading class to give the Dinangats the opportunity to improve their reading skills. When only women were coming to the class it was decided that it was necessary to challenge the men.

After a church meeting a few weeks ago the missionaries asked the believers to meet again. In the meeting the missionaries exhorted the men in their responsibility to teach their families, to be the leaders of their families and the community.

"For the past four weeks that is exactly what they have done," Gary wrote.

The men have evidently accepted the challenge. Please pray that they will become leaders who will be able to teach God's Word to their families and the community.
