Dinangats proclaim Jesus' birth
Dinangat believers in Papua New Guinea are proclaiming a Christmas message to anyone who will listen: "Jesus left his beautiful place and came to this earth for all of us."
Missionaries Gary and Esther Smith and family are delighted to know that the Dinangats now have a clear understanding of the reason for Christ's coming to earth.
As a family the Smiths got together and wrote "The 12 days of Papua New Guinea Christmas"
On the first day of Christmas my wantok (close friend) gave to me,
Praise God for the Dinangat believers who are joyously proclaiming Christ. Pray also for the Smith family as they minister to the Dinangats.

On the first day of Christmas my wantok (close friend) gave to me,
- A bird in a buai tree (Buai is the number one thing to chew here.)
- 2 turtle shells
- 3 kakaruks (chickens)
- 4 howling dogs
- 5 squealing pigs (in this culture this is as valuable as 5 golden rings)
- 6 gators a laying
- 7 kau-kaus cooking (sweet potatoes -- staple food)
- 8 mothers nursing
- 9 kundus beating (Kundus are drums.)
- 10 mu-mus steaming (a cooking method used at big feasts.)
- 11 ladies planting
- 12 men sing-singing (traditional dance that is very much like lords a leaping)
Praise God for the Dinangat believers who are joyously proclaiming Christ. Pray also for the Smith family as they minister to the Dinangats.
