Four Siawis to lead
Four Siawi men have accepted the responsibility of leading and shepherding the Siawi church in Papua New Guinea.
Missionary Jason Swanson is preparing to leave the village in about three weeks and is thankful to hand over his shepherding duties to these men.
The elders and their wives humbly accepted the honor of providing leadership for the Siawi church.
“As Kwaelom and Mese, Beiyem and Matinae, Mabou and Lebeniae, and Nokee and Kati stood before the church, it wasn’t with pride or a feeling of importance. These men and their wives very clearly recognize the responsibility that is theirs,” wrote missionary Linda Krieg.
In the Siawi village where the missionaries minister there has been much false teaching from a local cult that teaches a works-based religion. So the elders will need to stand strong against false teaching and continue to ground the believers in truth.
Please pray that the Siawi church will accept the leadership of these men. Pray also for the men and their wives as they minister to the Siawi villagers.
Pray also for the Swanson family as they leave their home in Papua New Guinea and relocate in the USA for a year of home assignment..
