God is center of teachers' lives
While some Siawis are still blinded by their perception of God's creation, others are grasping God's Word as they attend lessons and prayer meetings in Papua New Guinea.
Some Siawis are still suspicious of the chickens missionary Jason Swanson keeps. They can't accept that the chickens don't need a rooster in order to lay eggs.
"They don't understand that it is all in the way God has created the chicken," Jason wrote. "He has given them the ability to produce eggs without a … rooster."
But Siawis who believe are now teaching their own people, as well as the nearby Anu people. Eight Siawi and Anu teachers taught a group of men, who had tough questions for them.
Some of the men thought the ground drove Adam and Eve out of the garden. They believe the ground had a special strength and that it contained "forever life."
"That's why there is death today and why things are bad," one of the men said. "Our ground here in Papua New Guinea is bad. That's why everything is bad."
The Siawi teachers showed the group Genesis 3 and explained that ... disobedience were the reasons why God drove Adam and Eve out of the garden.
"The ground was nothing," Jason wrote. "It was God. God was the one who gave Adam life. God is the center of all things."
And Jason is excited to see how more and more God is becoming the center of these teachers' lives.
The men hold each other accountable and discuss how the church on Sundays is going and how true worship, teaching, prayer, and giving come from the heart.
"God is definitely using His Word to change lives," Jason wrote. "Praise God."
