'God is good'
On Monday, missionary Phil Henderson taught the Mwinika people of Mozambique about Creation.
He especially emphasized that God pronounced each aspect of His creation as "good." To illustrate that what God created was good because God is good, Phil used something familiar to the people -- a form for making mud bricks.
"If the form is even and straight we can expect the blocks that come from it will be even and straight," Phil said. "If the form itself is crooked and warped, we can expect that the blocks that come from it will be crooked and warped. So if all the things that God makes are good, what does that tell us about God?"
Phil was encouraged to see that attendance was up and included a notable increase in the presence of religious leaders, knowing that many Mwinikas won’t feel free to attend Bible teaching if their leaders are not attending.
Phil’s best friend in the village and his main translation co-worker is one of the top religious leaders in the area. Please pray that the Lord will use him to keep encouraging the other leaders to attend the teaching.
And keep praying that God will use Phil to clearly communicate His truth, and that it will fall on receptive hearts.
