God's doing just fine

After attending a Palawan conference, missionary Elise Long returned for a short visit to see how God’s work in the tribe progressed while they were away.

"Having left … Ludi in charge of teaching literacy twice a week while I was away, I was anxious to find out how it’s been going," Elise wrote. "I was thrilled to hear that Ludi and Mulok have kept the class going, and that [several] students have been faithfully coming."

"The people were proudly saying, ’ Nurada, Langgay, Pinisio and Lito -- they can read!’ The classroom was spotless, and the date was neatly written on the whiteboard from the lesson they had completed … before we arrived."

"And it hit me, God is doing just fine [in the village] without us right now!" The gardens are being tended so the teachers have fresh food, one Brooke's Point Palawano woman is counting out pills for the clinic, and some Bible lessons are ready to be put in the hands of Palawano Bible teachers in other villages. "God is already beginning to put some of the work in Palawano hands, and it’s thriving."

Elise should have the opportunity next week to fully return to her work among the Brooke's Point Palawanos. Pray that she does get to return, and praise God for what’s going on in the meantime.
