Highest enrollment ever
A missionary training center in the Asia-Pacific region now has the largest student enrollment in its history.
Forty-two missionary candidates, including students from five tribal churches, are scheduled to begin orientation Monday.
After orientation, the new students will begin learning about the chronological approach to teaching the Bible. Returning students who are finishing their third semester will be preparing for a semester of ministry with their local church.
Students returning from their church ministry are continuing their training in a two-year course that focuses on church planting. Second-year missionary candidates will focus on culture and language acquisition, preparing for a "splash-down" in a tribal area in January.
Some of the student families that traveled long distances arrived at the training center in weakened condition and are fighting sickness. Please pray for the students to regain their strength and to adjust to school life. Pray too for the staff in their "huge responsibility and beautiful opportunity … to shape and guide and direct these students," wrote missionary Dina Kowal.
"Every year that we have been on campus our staff has faced spiritual warfare before the new school year begins. This year is no different."
