Husband and wife put wrongs behind

As a result of studying 1 Corinthians in the Dinangat village where they live, missionaries Jeremiah and April Markley share that one couple in the group has  confessed that God has been at work on their marriage.

The desire to love and serve Christ in their marriage has been growing by leaps and bounds. Recently, they demonstrated this desire in a visual way.

The Markleys write, “They’ve apologized to one another and shaken hands (a very cultural way to put past wrongs behind you, but not very cultural in husband/wife relationships).” Through the Holy Spirit’s work of applying God’s Word to their lives, this couple has committed to honoring each other as husband and wife in the way that Scripture teaches.

Jeremiah and April write that they are excited to watch what God is doing in cultural issues, individual lives and families.  They praise God for the evidences of His Word breaking through long-standing boundaries. And their hearts are burdened for other needy marriages of friends and translation helpers.

Please pray for young Dinangat believers. Pray that they will be firmly grounded in God’s Word and that their faith will stand strong in the face of difficult trials. Pray that they will grow in grace to choose loving and wise responses rather than reacting to hostile attacks in anger and self-righteousness.
