Missionaries Travis and Renee Whitman arrived in Paraguay in February and began studying culture and language.
They found that one of the best ways to build relationships and become more familiar with Paraguayan culture is attending their local church.
"They have welcomed us, prayed for us, loved our boys and counted down the days until Jordan’s birth," wrote Renee.
They invite the Whitman’s for meals, correct their language usage and explain what the bulletin says each week.
Sunday morning church service is from 8:30 to noon and they try to invite families over for lunch after church each week and practice their Spanish and learn more about the culture. While Travis and Renee don’t understand much of the sermon, their comprehension increases each week.
"Our relationships are growing," wrote Renee. "We pray we are an encouragement to these precious believers also and eventually hope to encourage them in the area of mission [involvement]."
Pray for Travis and Renee as they study culture and language and build relationships to facilitate their future ministry in Paraguay.
