Konyaguis will help reach Konyaguis
The Konyagui believers in Senegal are looking forward to the time when they can read the Bible in their own language.
Currently their Konyagui teacher, Bonéré, reads the Bible in French and Pulaar, another local language, then teaches the lessons in Pulaar and Konyagui.
Recently missionaries Brian and Sherri Hofer and Chantal Pilon, who are beginning a ministry among the Konyagui people in Guinea, visited the small group of believers to assess the work there. Bonéré is the only one of the group that speaks French and was therefore able to communicate with the missionaries.
Chantal and the Hofers returned to Guinea and are planning on moving to a Konyagui village and building homes. They have been building relationships with Konyaguis in Senegal and Guinea.
Living among the Konyaguis in Guinea will help the team learn the culture and language. When they are sufficiently comfortable in the culture and language the Hofers will move to Senegal for a time and develop Bible lessons with the aid of the existing church. They would then help the small church to grow in the Lord and equip them to reach out to Konyaguis in Senegal and Guinea.
Pray that the Konyagui believers will continue to grow in their knowledge of God and that someday they will have the Word of God in their language. Pray too for Brian and Sherri and their co-worker, Chantal, as they adjust to their ministry in Guinea and make plans for future ministry in Senegal.
