Letters from the Akolet church

Adam and Julie Martin were happy to receive news about their Akolet friends in the bush. The update was carried back to them by co-workers who visited there recently.
The news was good. Overall, the believers are doing well. In the Martins’ absence, the Akolets’ spiritual progress is reflected in their continuing to meet as a group of believers, listening together to recorded Bible lessons, singing praise songs and praying together.
Adam and Julie were especially happy to receive some personal letters from their Akolet friends, a few of which they have translated to share.
One letter read, “I will inform you like this, we who are Jesus’ group always we meet together. And we want to ask you to ask our Father, the Creator, and He will strengthen us.”
Another Akolet believer shared, “OK, I will tell you how we’re living in our place here …. We have met with some heavies (difficulties) … but we remember the Creator always.”
A further letter expressed, “When Mr. Jan and Mrs. Annette (the visiting missionaries to the Akolets) gave your pictures to us, we saw you and our insides were crying. And we felt badly for ourselves. We want you to come quickly …. I ask you to ask our Father, that His eyes will exist on top of us. (He will look after us and watch over us.)”
These new believers need much prayer support, especially during the maternity absence of the Martins. Pray that God will continue to grow and strengthen His Akolet church mightily until the Martins are able to return to the bush to further teach and encourage their dear Aklolet friends in God’s Word.
