Manobo couple steps out in faith
A Manobo couple in the Philippines left on a motorcycle last week with their two children and pig in tow, to start their new ministry in a neighboring village.
"It is a very big step for Mahan and his wife, Arsisa, to move down to the lowlands where they have no land to farm and no other way of making a living that they know of now," missionary Gene Trudeau wrote.
Gene and his wife, Carol, believe that Mahan's ministry will be very faithful and have confidence that God will provide for them. They know that Mahan and Arsisa's faith will be an encouragement to other Manobo teachers to step out in faith as missionaries.
Mahan will be training three teachers who have already started the evangelistic phase of teaching.
"But they are still trainees, and need help," Gene wrote.
Mahan will also teach God's Word at another village and will take the trainees with him for further training.
"It was an emotional moment as we watched this wonderful young couple leave, stepping out in faith, to spread God's Word," Gene wrote. "Please pray for Mahan and Arsisa and all the outreaches and training of teachers that Mahan will be involved in."
