Ministry candidates get closer look
Nine students from the New Tribes Mission training center in Brazil recently visited the Rapid Bible course in Paraguay to observe teaching methods among the Pai Tavy Tera people.
Several accompanied missionary Wes Goddard on Saturday to a Bible class he co-teaches with a Pai Tavy Tera believer. Then on Sunday they attended the Pai church service and gave their testimonies. On Monday the group attended the Rapid Bible course lessons to observe a class in session.
Five Pai Tavy Tera Bible teachers have been teaching the course along with Wes and his cousin Mark Goddard.
"It is very encouraging to see how the young fellows have a real desire to teach their own people," Wes wrote.
Approximately 50 students are attending the various classes offered. Wes has been teaching evangelistic Bible lessons. Some of the Pai Bible teachers are sitting in on the classes to observe teaching methods.
The believers meet separately and are studying 2 Corinthians. Two of the Pai believers are teaching that class.
Pray that the Pai Bible teachers will clearly present the truths of Scripture to the Pai believers and that the believers will be encouraged in the faith. Pray also that the Pais who are hearing the evangelistic Bible lessons for the first time will understand the Gospel message and trust Christ as their Savior.
