Missionaries explore teaming up with church

Missionaries Chantal Pilon and Jen Rabe are teaming up to build relationships with Konyagi believers in a small church in Senegal.

Chantal has temporarily moved from Guinea to Senegal to get to know the Konyagi believers and their pastor, Bonéré, and continue to learn the culture and language of the people. Bonéré and the missionary team among the Konyagis have discussed strategies for reaching the Konyagi people in Guinea and Senegal with the Gospel message.

Jen, a missionary kid who grew up in Senegal and recently completed the New Tribes Mission training, will join Chantal for the next seven months while Chantal’s teammates Brian and Sherri Hofer are in the USA for the birth of their third child.

"Our primary objective is to connect with the Konyagi church," wrote Chantal, "to build relationships and to help them in any way we can, for example providing some Bible-teaching. During the coming months, we and the Konyagi believers hope to get acquainted well enough to see how we can partner together to reach the Konyagis with the Gospel."

Jen will continue studying French, the national language of Senegal, and she and Chantal will communicate with each other only in French.

Pray for Pastor Bonéré as he shepherds the Konyagi church. Pray also for Jen and Chantal as they build relationships to partner with the believers to reach the Konyagis with the Gospel.
