Missionary keeps contact with Jalunga people
Recently missionary Audrey DeJager visited several villages in Senegal where she formerly ministered among the Jalunga people for more than 20 years. Audrey now ministers to those visiting Senegal on mission trips.
During her years of ministry among the Jalungas, they heard the evangelistic Bible series but most rejected the Gospel.
At one of the villages she visited with a family who heard the message of salvation many years ago when the first missionary family ministered there. They professed Christ at that time but had no opportunity to hear follow-up teaching. During Audrey's visit she was honored with a special meal and renewed her friendship with those villagers. Pray that they will grow in their understanding of their position in Christ.
Traveling to another village she visited some of her former literacy students. One of them was reading from the book of Genesis and the evangelistic Bible series. Earlier, during a literacy class, she asked the question in Jalunga, "When you die and stand before God, and He asks you, 'Why should I let you into My place,' What would you say?" He answered her, "Hei! Na n ma xuiisanma. (That has me worried)."
Please pray that the Jalunga people will continue to ponder the message they've heard and will trust Christ.
Pray also for Audrey as she ministers to those wanting to view the mission field for the first time.
