Opening doors through ministering

The group of young adults from a church in Juarez, Mexico, recently finished the Vacation Bible School program in a Tarahumara village and went on to minister in yet another area.

While the group was in the village where missionaries Tony and Lauren Finch minister, the ladies meeting grew from 18 to 44. One of the visitors, Angélica, taught the ladies from the book of Ruth. The ladies loved her and seemed to benefit from her teaching.

There were more than 40 children who attended the Vacation Bible School lessons and watched puppets, heard a Bible lesson, learned a memory verse, colored and played games. The final program was attended by 160 people. Afterwards the group gave gifts given by several churches in Juarez to everyone there.

In the evenings the whole group worked on projects for the Tarahumara church. They filled in holes in the road, wired the building for the ladies and children's meetings, made bunk beds for the church guest rooms and painted and installed a bright yellow swing set in a local school. The project for the school is in a village where the Tarahumara believers want to begin to show God's love to the people of the community so that they can present God's message of salvation to them.

Praise God for this group of young people who so generously gave of their time, effort and money to help reach out to the Tarahumara people and to help the believers reach out to others.
