Sharper than any two-edged sword
Last week missionaries Hans and Marion Jensen, who work among the Nalu people in Guinea, returned from a youth group activity in a nearby village and almost immediately received a call on their cell phone.
A Nalu friend, Suleman, said his nephew had been knifed during an argument over some money he was owed. He asked Hans to drive the young boy, El Hai, to the clinic for medical attention.
Even though it was now extremely late, Hans left for ambulance duty. He drove El Hai to the clinic where his arm was stitched up.
When Hans and his patient returned to the village they discussed what should happen to the man who stabbed El Hai. Many felt Sana should go straight to jail but others felt that the villagers should handle it themselves. Sana, realizing that he was in big trouble, ran and hid. He was found the next morning and returned to his uncle for punishment.
"The sad thing" wrote Marion, "was that the young man who knifed El Hai was one of the young men who has heard much of God’s Word."
Pray that Sana and other Nalus who are hearing God’s Word will understand and trust Christ as their Savior.
