Siars feeling God’s power

The Siar people are hearing the hard truths about sin and separation from God in Genesis 3 and 4.

As the knowledge of God’s power and perfection washes over them they feel relentlessly pounded by the truth of the Word. A Siar friend, Yelita, told missionary Lane Sanford, “The teaching was so heavy that … I felt like I worked all day in the garden; I just went down to the river to wash up.”

“God’s Word is hard-hitting and wants to expose us to who He is and who we are in light of His perfect character and nature,” wrote Lane. “When we are examined by His perfect standard, it should always be a sobering experience.”

The Siars are just becoming acquainted with the God of the Word through evangelistic Bible teaching and are already feeling His awesome power. Many are excitedly awaiting the calm that comes with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The missionary team is still two months away from introducing Christ and His atoning work but the Siars are hungering for that truth already. The Deliverer promised in Genesis 3:15 gives hope that there will be calm after the storm created by awareness of their sin.

Pray that God will continue to soften the hearts of the Siars and that they will be prepared to accept the truth of Salvation by faith in Christ alone.
