Silence speaks

After a Morop man died, missionaries Jim and Joy Elliot wondered if wailing or silence was worse.

The man died on Monday, and "Besides a lonesome cry from his wife to let people know he had died there has been very little or no crying," wrote Jim. "The reason why is because nobody cares. He wasn't loved by his people."

There are still a few tears, but only to appease the spirits the Morops believe are lurking in the hut, so that they will not be killed by the spirits.

Please pray for the Elliots and their co-workers, Justin and Becky Burt, to quickly grasp the Morop language, and that soon they can share God's Word with the Morops.
